🏋️ About the Gym

Is Bionic Barbell only for bodybuilders?

Absolutely not. The name might sound intense, but Bionic welcomes all fitness levels — from complete beginners to competitive athletes. We have a thriving senior community, parents who bring their kids to our childcare center, people rehabbing injuries on our Keiser machines, and yes, some serious lifters too. Everyone trains together in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

I'm a complete beginner. Will I feel intimidated?

Not at all. Our staff and members are welcoming to everyone. We offer beginner-friendly group classes, personal training for new lifters, and Keiser machines that are specifically designed for people of all ability levels — including seniors and those recovering from injuries. You'll feel at home from day one.

What makes Bionic different from franchise gyms like Crunch or Planet Fitness?

Bionic is locally owned and custom-built from the ground up. We invested in premium equipment brands like Sorinex, Kabuki, and Keiser that franchise gyms simply don't carry. We have a full recovery suite (cryotherapy, red light, PEMF, O2 therapy) under one roof, on-site childcare, and a community that knows your name. Franchise gyms optimize for volume — we optimize for experience.

What equipment does Bionic have?

We feature Sorinex custom racks and platforms (used by Division I universities and NFL teams), Kabuki Strength specialty bars, and Keiser pneumatic resistance machines perfect for joint-friendly training. Plus a full range of free weights, cardio equipment, functional training gear, and more. See our equipment →

What are Bionic Barbell's hours?

Monday through Friday: 3:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. We open earlier than any other full-service gym in Las Cruces — perfect for early risers, shift workers, and anyone who wants to train before the sun comes up. Located at 900 N Telshor Blvd, Las Cruces, NM 88011.

How does Bionic compare to Crunch Fitness in Las Cruces?

Both are full-service gyms, but Bionic offers premium equipment that Crunch does not: Sorinex custom racks, Kabuki specialty bars, and Keiser pneumatic machines. Bionic also has a full recovery suite with cryotherapy, red light therapy, PEMF, and oxygen therapy — none of which Crunch offers. Bionic provides on-site childcare and accepts 11+ insurance programs. If you're looking for equipment quality and recovery technology, Bionic is the clear choice in Las Cruces.

How does Bionic compare to Planet Fitness in Las Cruces?

Planet Fitness is a budget gym focused on casual exercisers. Bionic Barbell is a premium fitness center with equipment, recovery technology, and services that Planet Fitness doesn't offer: free barbell squat racks, deadlift platforms, dumbbells over 75 lbs, cryotherapy, red light therapy, personal training, on-site childcare, and SilverSneakers acceptance. If you're serious about fitness at any level, Bionic is worth the investment.

Is Bionic Barbell good for weight loss?

Absolutely. We offer group fitness classes (HIIT, cardio kickboxing, boot camp), personal training with nutrition guidance, and recovery services that help you train harder and recover faster. Many members combine group classes with personal training for the best results. Plus, our cryotherapy sessions can boost metabolism. All fitness levels are welcome — our trainers will meet you where you are.

Original Medicare (Parts A & B) does not cover gym memberships directly. However, many Medicare Advantage plans include fitness benefits like SilverSneakers, Renew Active, or Silver&Fit that provide gym access at no additional cost. Contact your insurance provider to see if your plan includes a fitness benefit, or call us at (575) 202-6498 and we'll help you check.

Do you have senior-specific equipment and classes?

Yes. Our Keiser pneumatic resistance machines are specifically designed for joint-friendly, low-impact strength training — perfect for seniors and anyone with joint concerns. We also offer group fitness classes suitable for all ages, and our personal trainers have experience working with older adults on strength, balance, and mobility goals.

❄️ Recovery & Cryotherapy

Does Bionic Barbell have cryotherapy?

Yes! Bionic Barbell is the only gym in Las Cruces with a whole-body cryotherapy chamber. Sessions are 3 minutes at -200°F+ and help reduce inflammation, speed muscle recovery, boost metabolism, and improve sleep. VIP members get unlimited cryotherapy sessions. Basic members can add individual sessions. Learn more about recovery →

What recovery services does Bionic offer?

Bionic has Las Cruces' only complete recovery suite with four modalities: whole-body cryotherapy (-200°F+ sessions), red light therapy (all 4 therapeutic wavelengths), PEMF therapy (pulsed electromagnetic field for deep tissue recovery), and medical-grade oxygen therapy. We also have steam rooms included with all memberships. No other gym in Las Cruces offers even one of these recovery technologies — Bionic offers all four.

How much does cryotherapy cost at Bionic?

Cryotherapy is included with unlimited access for VIP members at $99.99/month. Basic members can purchase individual cryotherapy sessions. Considering standalone cryotherapy facilities charge $40-65 per session, the VIP membership with unlimited cryotherapy, plus full gym access, classes, childcare, and all other recovery modalities, is exceptional value.

Is cryotherapy safe?

Yes. Whole-body cryotherapy has been used by professional athletes, physical therapy clinics, and wellness centers for decades. Sessions are supervised by trained staff, last only 3 minutes, and your head remains above the chamber at all times. It is generally not recommended for individuals with certain cardiovascular conditions — our staff will review a brief health questionnaire before your first session.

Can seniors use the recovery suite?

Absolutely. Many of our senior members use the recovery suite regularly. Red light therapy and PEMF therapy are particularly popular with seniors for joint pain, inflammation, and overall wellness. Cryotherapy is also available to seniors who are in good health. Our staff will help you choose the best recovery modalities for your needs.

Facilities & Services

Does Bionic have on-site childcare?

Yes! We offer supervised on-site childcare so parents can work out worry-free. Childcare can be added to any membership for $30/month per child with unlimited use during staffed hours. Our childcare area is safe, fun, and designed to keep kids entertained while you focus on your workout.

What recovery services are available?

Bionic features a full recovery suite with four modalities: whole-body cryotherapy (3 minutes at -200°F+ to reduce inflammation), red light therapy (cellular repair and skin health), PEMF therapy (electromagnetic pulse recovery for deep tissue), and oxygen therapy (concentrated O2 for enhanced recovery). VIP members get unlimited access; single sessions are also available. Steam rooms are included with all memberships.
